Mr David Whitewright

I started as a Parent Governor then became a co-opted governor and have been Chair at Black Firs Primary School for many years. I am now a Board member of Congleton Multi-Academy Trust (Cmat) and Director.
I started life as a Mining Engineer working in southern Africa before returning to the UK as an Assistant Mine Manager in the Highlands and then a Quarry Manager in Glasgow. In the mid-eighties I retrained as a Design Technology teacher working in Cheshire until I retired in 2014.
I have taken great interest in the development of Black Firs Primary School into a very successfully primary school both in East Cheshire and in the UK. I am an enthusiastic walker venturing out at least twice a week. I enjoy caravanning particularly around the UK. I am also interested in wood turning and am a scouter.
