Having previously been a pupil of the school, I was delighted to join the Black Firs team working in the Pre-school in 2004. In the seven enjoyable years I spent there, I took on the role of supervisor and speech and language co-ordinator. I assisted in Reception and Years 1 & 2 before becoming the Year 3 pastoral teaching assistant in 2012, where I still continue to use my experience to aid speech and language difficulties. I feel very lucky to have seen and been a part of so many children's journeys into confident, independent learners.
I have three (tiring but wonderful) children. Two who have moved onto high school and one who still attends the school. I firmly believe that Black Firs has helped to shape who they are today. In my spare time I like to read thrillers, art, eat and enjoy the "occasional" glass of wine!
